Building the Bitcoin economy from the ground up requires Bitcoin being spent. People who are actually doing the hard work will never have as much Bitcoin as they have today as that is programmed into deflationary economics of Bitcoin.
I believe the whole point here is to use Bitcoin in ways that let you FOCUS and enable you to spent MOST TIME on THE MOST IMPORTANT things TODAY.

I think servers should just become routers/relays, with data and logic stored within nodes/peers. I never thought this was viable until a realized how well nostr relays worked as a NAT workaround.
this is just a half baked idea but there might be something to it.
I like the store-and-forward functionality of nostr without the permanence. Some kind of p2p protocol with state. Maybe im talking crazy. Ill stop now.

It’s been quite the day for #Nostr and nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955 in particular due to Apple’s threatened removal from the App Store. Would love to crowd source a recap here. I’m going to recount as much as I can, and tag some notes, but please add in the replies if I missed anything.
The day started with nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s sharing screenshots of a notice he received from Apple stating that Damus would be removed from the App Store in 14 days due to Apple’s claims that #zaps are in violation of their policy on in-app purchases. In Apple’s notice they said that tips and donations, even if optional, must use “in-app purchase” if they are associated with receiving digital content, and that zaps allow for this to take place outside of the in-app purchase mechanism.

Users quickly jumped to point out the similarities between zaps and other tipping features in apps such as Twitter and Fountain App.

Long time bitcoiners shared flashbacks to when Apple previously banned bitcoin wallet apps several years ago:

Несколько дней назад у нас закончился кофе под эспрессо. Я тогда принял решение поставить эспрессо на стоп, но кофе под молоко варить из светлой обжарки, под фильтр: горечи не будет, а кислотность богатая.
Нужно было только пристреляться, подобрать рецепт. С первого же шота столкнулся с резкой, но очень богатой кислотностью. В молоке это все действительно спряталось, но вот сам по себе шот на светлой обжарке не давал мне покоя. Обычный эспрессо по сравнению с таким кажется робустой.
И вот я прилетаю в Питер, а в кофейне ТЧК, оказывается, уже давно варят "фильтр-шот". Они подобрали рецепт (время и объем воды) таким образом, чтобы сгладить и раскрыть кислотность свежеобжаренного кофе. Тело как в итальянском эспрессо, только вкусно!
Это одно из главных открытий для меня в этом году. Кажется, индустрия идет к еще более светлой обжарке.

"Extremes" aren't the problem. Profound discoveries never bubble up from middle of the road thinking. The most critically needed sort of truth always exists at some extreme. It's when people get into trouble or are suffering in some way because of a majority held belief that some extreme truth is most valuable.
The American revolution was carried out by extremists. Strictly principled people are by definition extreme in their dedication to principles of freedom or honesty or morality. Bitcoiners & cypherpunks are most definitely extremists, & their actions have far more political impact than any sort of public whining or demonstrations of other kinds.
The real problem is always the desire to cling to some delusion because it is more comfortable, or because it feels "nicer" or more "fair" than actually embracing reality. It is an effort to refuse to really THINK about a subject, often in order to avoid seeing or reaching unwanted conclusions, that is the real poison.
Politics (which is more religion than science) is dominated by people who have no idea how anything works & they believe they can exist at the expense of others & threaten people into creating for them the reality they want see.
If you are an engineer or a builder then your ideas exist very "close to the metal," but in politics & religion ideas are more abstract. The results of ideas & policies are often slow to materialize & easy to evade & misconstrue. While bad builders are likely to see undeniably bad results, bad political theories are much harder to kill.
So the mainstream in politics or religion can potentially be very wrong & very dumb for generations. When idiocy dominates an area it makes extremism all the more valuable & desperately needed.
For eexample, an "extremist" might say that all politicians & all govt bureaucrats (given that they are funded & held up by theft & threats of violence) are parasites who deserve to be treated like the criminals they are. An extremist might say that no person should have the right to live at the involuntary expense of anyone else. That people should not be subject to the arbitrary authority of people who build & earn nothing. That people should trade value for value, rather than give up value to people who offer only cages or wounds. And that sort of "extremist" would be exactly right.
That sort of extreme political thinking represents the beginning of the end for an evil that has been the source of the greatest atrocities in all of human history. Those threatened will say it's the end of the world, because while they evade seeing the whole picture (not wanting to see what they really are), they still recognize it's the end for them.

This is the arpara. On Kickstarter, they are selling it as the World’s First 5K Micro-OLED All-In-One VR headset. It’s supposed to be the Meta Quest 2 competitor. They also have a similar separate version with a cable, so for PC VR gaming. You can already back the project for between 430 to 630 US dollars depending on which version you want and they expect to ship it in March, this year.
