If I’m going to live among brainwashed NPCs addicted to centralized social media, I’d much rather they be brainwashed by people who share the same culture and country. At least this way, those doing the brainwashing have some skin in the game and have to coexist with the NPCs they influence. Everyone and their mother is looking at trending on Primal because they all use Primal and that's the first thing you see.
It's not like other apps, where you can just subscribe to a relay and the feed comes to life.
I legit can't see anything else on that app because I don't have follows and it doesn't show my relay feed. Which is why they auto-onboard everyone to a set list of follows. Including Odell. Which is why he is at the top and will remain there indefinitely.

There are plenty of "It works fine for me folks", but I have encountered plenty of people that have had the same problems I have exxperienced, along with some that I haven't.
If it only works for some random people, then it doesn't work.
IRC doesn't have this problem. Neither does email, telnet, snail mail, telephone, nearly every instant messaging app, forums, BBS's, centralized messaging crap.
I guess you could say it competes well with fax machines and text messaging? Whoopty doo.

Apparently TikTok decided to disable all accounts associated with Americans, not just use in the US. I had to delete the app and reinstall it creating a new user in order to get back in from NZ. It’s weird because I’m pretty sure the account I was using was created in after I moved to NZ three years ago. Anyway. I’m back in and TikTok is now free from the influence of Americans.

Don't recommend SimpleX, and other complex stuff.
Recommend tools like Primal, and signal, get them to the halfway point if possible first then find ways to encourage them to use better tools.

Was worried about not having Tor Browser available for aarch64 linux, but worked out that the Tor proxy can be installed the same.
From there can set the SOCKS5 proxy: 127.0.0.1 on the port 9050 in a dedicated browser like LibreWolf. Leave the DNS request going over Tor.
Opening .onion sites works this way, acceptable for my main usecase of testing self-hosted Hidden Services and maybe Robosats.
