I see major parallelism.
Roger Verr is Martin Luther. Whoever made Doge is Muhammad. Vitalik might be a John Smith.
Even Satoshi has some valid parallels with Christ or some of His apostles. Satoshi is or was a nobody from nowhere who instituted a new era of being which grew to global reach. Now, Satoshi isn't God, but maybe he was gifted by God for the good of humanity.

Islam being a mid-early Christian heresy (rejection of Christ's divinity, death, resurrection, and of the Trinity), it feels like Doge to BTC to me, since Doge and Bitcoin are based on the same concept (at least Islam has monotheism), but Doge is a joke and a caricature of Bitcoin.
On the other hand, Mormonism is moralistic pluratheism (maybe pluriautotheism) and is thus actually more theologically foreign. Likewise, ETH is a little less foreign prima facie due to superficial features like adoption, aesthetic, ecosystem, and valuation, but is under the hood more foreign than Doge.
I take this very seriously.

People like to compare the invention of BTC to the reformation, which is so annoying because the reformation was essentially the beginning of endless shitcoin Christianities 😮💨

Bring back male-only spaces
This needs to be done across the wide range of social spheres and institutions.
As soon as a woman enters the room, the air changes, the vibe shifts, the men compose themselves differently. This is good and fitting but not as a constant state of affairs in all areas of life. It robs men of necessary space to bond and think and talk and work as men.
Whether building things together, networking and expanding the social graph, focusing on sports or fitness, engaging in recreation, studying and developing skills, or jointly pursuing godliness—each space should have its own culture, but none should be patterned after women's groups and spaces. Men's spaces should be distinctly and unabashedly masculine.
Make Male-Only Spaces (Great) Again.

Good Morning Nostriches!
(re)Discovered a few things yesterday.
1. turning off the tech; having the son (voluntarily) turn over his phone did wonders for him and us as his parents yesterday
2. taking a family day was:
A. much needed
B. we have to get back into diligently scheduling those
(we've been all going in different directions for a few months and it has taken its toll on us)
3. When did sub sandwiches from a chain start costing $18? And it's not like I was at Katz's getting a world famous Pastrami...no we are talking Jersey Mikes...nothing special...
SO...we asked our son...look at the price...do you really want to pay that much or do you want to just get all the fixin's at the store and make subs at home...
"let's go" he promptly said as he hustled out the door.
Over the last 1.5-2 years we've been intentional about eating out less. (We used to eat out practically every day in some form or fashion).
Not only has it helped us be better stewards of the finances God has entrusted to us; practically eliminating eating out over time as helped us recognize how much less expensive it is to grow or buy the fixin's ourselves.
I haven't quite convinced the misses to move from gardening to animal husbandry...but I'm actively looking for local relationships with those whom already do.
In the meantime I'll just buy direct from them.
Ok y'all...
Need to start the morning routine and the day.
Not sure entirely what it entails but I'm sure it has something to do with leadership = relationships 😁
Cheers and God bless your day!
P.S. Remember, if it's worth a like, comment, follow, reNote or QuoteNote; it's worth a #zap

Spotify is a textbook example of a modern parasitic corporation — bloated on debt, endlessly expanding, and yet perpetually unprofitable. It operates on the illusion of success, using borrowed money to grow larger, not to become better. Instead of building a sustainable model that rewards creativity and innovation, Spotify follows the typical corporate playbook: prioritize growth at all costs, chase stock valuations, and hide the fundamental truth that the business doesn't actually make money. Like so many other corporate giants of the fiat era, Spotify's entire existence is a monument to financial manipulation, not genuine value creation.
Meanwhile, the artists — the very people whose work fuels the entire platform — are treated as disposable. Spotify pays them scraps, fractions of pennies per stream, while executives and shareholders feast on the hope of future profitability that never comes. In reality, Spotify's model depends on exploiting musicians, squeezing as much content from them as possible while returning as little as legally permissible. It's a system where the ones creating the art are the last to benefit. Instead of empowering a music industry based on talent and fair compensation, Spotify has become just another machine designed to enrich corporate insiders while bleeding the culture dry.

you didn't volunteer to be part of a society, and a society has a market, you can't opt out of being part of society, however, if society is accepting tyranny you are obliged by God to resist it, and you don't even need to believe in God to understand this, because human authority is always subordinate to the laws of nature, which is what I mean when i say God if you don't like that word
communism is trying to sell you the idea that you can opt out of the market and let Big Brother tell you everything and that nothing is your property and all liability goes to the state, it's literally just a synonym for totalitarianism,, absolute rule over all of our lives
in no way whatsoever does freedom come into the equation, or privacy, under communism you are supposed to just submit to everyone with a badge issued by the state

If the Church or the State are too closely-aligned, then there is no power great enough to support an individual's peaceful attempt at redress.
I think it is bad for the Church to be too large a part of the State. That is actually a tool for weakening and coopting the Church.
The Church should be a control on the State.

Throughout Western history, the Church and the State have been parallel, sometimes-overlapping, often-competing structures. When one became too corrupt or tyrannical, or crumbled into decay and disrepair, the other stepped in and took over for a time.
I think this construct has been the Secret Sauce for the rise of the West over the past millenium.
I think it's time for Jesus to take the wheel, again.
That is all.

they are not, they are servants of an organisation that claims it is there to protect me
so if they don't protect me, the whole deal is off, tyvm don't come around to my door i'm not interested in your religion of god-men

i think minarchism is a pipe dream and central to the myths surrounding the formation of the federation of the USA, which was as dramatically revealed by Musk's DOGE to be absolutely endemic to the entire bureaucracy
the prescription in the bible that you can read about in Samuel is precisely a polycentric law system and absolutely no kings or anything similar to kings, and modern liberal democracy and monarchy both share a lot of basic principles
i want to be answerable only to the people who are my neighbours, the inevitable and repeated story of empires over the last 2000 years has shown that as soon as you start delegating your rights to the hands of "representatives" who you never get to talk to is tyranny

Marriage is the harder path, not the easier one. Worthwhile things are never easy, and I'd never abandon a sacrament just because the state has made a mess of things.
Every couple is free to hold themselves to a higher standard, by holding to their vows. Abandoning the vows altogether is a solution in search of a problem.

While walking through the art gallery of a medieval castle, yesterday, I passed this picture of St. Katherine of #Alexandria, and the name predictably gave me pause. The painting was part of a set. The final one being of the same lovely, wise-eyed woman calmly preparing to be beheaded by a sword. She refused to remain silent in the face of injustice and ignorance. She had important knowledge and she knew it must be shared.
Her story touched my heart and has convinced me that Alexandria really is the right name, for what we are building. All roads lead me to "Alexandria".

The basis of communism is a centrally-planned state economy that coopts all private property.
Private citizens willingly sharing amongst themselves, so that nobody suffers abject poverty, is just the normality of a functional, cohesive community. Such as the Early Church.

Jesus said that the poor will always be with us. If nothing else, people will always be making themselves or other people relatively poorer, through wickedness, indifference, or other counterproductive behavior, regardless of overall abundance. Poverty is often the result of some spiritual poverty, on the part of the poor or the rich, or often both.
But still, as the late Pope Francis quoted, in his message to commemorate the fifth Day of the Poor,
“In this context, we do well to recall the words of Saint John Chrysostom: “Those who are generous should not ask for an account of the poor’s conduct, but only improve their condition of poverty and satisfy their need. The poor have only one plea: their poverty and the condition of need in which they find themselves. Do not ask anything else of them; but even if they are the most wicked persons in the world, if they lack the necessary nourishment, let us free them from hunger. ... The merciful are like a harbour for those in need: the harbour welcomes and frees from danger all those who are shipwrecked; whether they are evildoers, good persons, or whatever they may be, the harbour shelters them within its inlet. You, too, therefore, when you see on land a man or a woman who has suffered the shipwreck of poverty, do not judge, do not ask for an account of their conduct, but deliver them from their misfortune” (Discourses on the Poor Man Lazarus, II, 5).”

Yeah, that's why the secularists reformers took over and financed everything social with taxes, to make sure that the charities couldn't pick or choose who received the charity.
I'm fine with either, and with personally funding either. Christians who read the Bible and attend services every week pay up disproportionately high, under either system.

GM☕️☕️🌅✝️Happy Easter!
Gospel. John 20:19-31
On the evening of that first day of the week,
when the doors were locked, where the disciples were,
for fear of the Jews,
Jesus came and stood in their midst
and said to them, “Peace be with you.”
When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side.
The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord.
Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you.
As the Father has sent me, so I send you.”
And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them,
“Receive the Holy Spirit.
Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them,
and whose sins you retain are retained.”
Thomas, called Didymus, one of the Twelve,
was not with them when Jesus came.
So the other disciples said to him, “We have seen the Lord.”
But he said to them,
“Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands
and put my finger into the nailmarks
and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
Now a week later his disciples were again inside
and Thomas was with them.
Jesus came, although the doors were locked,
and stood in their midst and said, “Peace be with you.”
Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and see my hands,
and bring your hand and put it into my side,
and do not be unbelieving, but believe.”
Thomas answered and said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
Jesus said to him, “Have you come to believe because you have seen me?
Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.”
Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples
that are not written in this book.
But these are written that you may come to believe
that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God,
and that through this belief you may have life in his name.✌️💜🕊️

> And that is what I took away from the book - we aren’t headed to a world without rulers, that’s just not on the horizon for any of us alive today.
I happened to read a passage of Scripture yesterday that drove this home to me:
> So Moses appealed to the Lord, “May the Lord, the God who gives breath to all, appoint a man over the community who will go out before them and come back in before them, and who will bring them out and bring them in, so that the Lord’s community won’t be like sheep without a shepherd.” (Numbers 27:15-17)
Humans are like sheep, herd animals. They will always have leaders. The best we can hope for are good and fair leaders. I believe anyone who is your leader should be chosen by you, not imposed upon you. Democracy imposes it's will on the 49% (and actually more when you look at the % of who actually votes) who didn't choose that leader or policy or whatever. Governance should be voluntary, as I see it. You could live under the rule of a king for all I care, as long as you choose that king, and can cease to be his subject if you wish. The moment some system of government or some ruler is imposed on you, you are no longer free, despite what the official (patriotic) propaganda tells you.
I've been meaning to read this book, so thanks for the reminder and endorsement.

A short time ago, a friendly acquaintance posted something moving and troubling on facebook that has really stuck in my mind.
As part of working through some stuff, she wrote out a memory of an experience from when she was a teenager, living with her boyfriend and his mother, who were both physically abusive to her. She had started going to a church down the road and was connecting with the pastor and his family.
One day, the boyfriend’s mother brought home a 40+ year old man and told my friend that she’d made a deal with him, that my friend needed to go with him and have sex with him.
At the moment she was supposed to get in his truck, my friend ran. Betrayed, terrified, checking behind her as she ran, she headed to the church, where she knew she would be safe. No one was there, so she went to the pastor’s house nearby. He was home, and she told him what had just happened.
He said that his wife and kids wouldn’t be home until evening, so while he wished he could help her, it wouldn’t be appropriate for him to be alone with a woman who wasn’t his wife. He talked about the “Billy Graham Rule” and avoiding the appearance of evil. He didn’t even call the police or anyone else to help her.
This pastor, in “avoiding the appearance of evil,” much more neatly avoided the substance of righteousness. The priest and the Levite preceding the Good Samaritan come to mind.
Brothers and sisters, don't be like this guy. Don’t raise your kids to be like this guy.
Here’s a brief article on what avoiding the appearance of evil really means:
https://myonlycomfort.com/2017/04/14/every-appearance-of-evil-and-the-billy-graham-rule/
And if you’re up for a little more, there’s a valuable addendum:

Christ is risen! I haven't done anything officially yet. My proposal is that I'll buy them a hardware wallet and help them set it up. Once we generate the addresses I was going to simply add to the website "We now accept Bitcoin donations at bc123blahblahblah" and have them lock the wallet away. Then set up the priest and probably treasurer with Blue Wallet to watch activity.
I was thinking we could add a little form on that part of the site page that asks for name, email, and amount donated. Could ask that if they want a receipt they submit the form prior to completing the transaction so we can have some sort of assurance that the person requesting the donation receipt is the same person who sent the sats.
Feels like a jerry-rigged, hillbilly solution but I think it should be workable?

I'm obsessed with the myths of Ancient Egypt. Their gods, godesses, the architecture, the formal language. I had the luck to meet an Iranian stonecarver who sold me four of those handcarved Scarabs which are made of Turkmenic Tourquoise. There are beautiful copperadders in the stone which have to be polished from time to time. I made the ring first and it was sold after a few days. The same customer wanted to have a Bangle in the same style and now I have only one green Scarab left now. I think I will make another ring with it and will keep it for myself. 🙃

“The honor of man is short-lived and fleeting. There’s little difference between man and beast, for both will one day perish. Such is the path of foolish men and those who quote everything they say, for they are here today and gone tomorrow! Pause in his presence A shepherd called “Death” herds them, leading them straight to hell like mindless sheep. Yet at daybreak you will find the righteous ruling in their place. Every trace of them will be gone forever, with all their “glory” lost in the darkness of their doom. But I know the loving God will redeem my soul, raising me up from the dark power of death, taking me as his bridal partner. Pause in his presence So don’t be disturbed when you see the rich surround you with the “glory” of their wealth on full display. For when they die, they will carry nothing with them, and their riches will not follow them beyond the grave. Though they have the greatest rewards of this world and all applaud them for their accomplishments, they will follow those who have gone before them and go straight into the realm of darkness, where they will never ever see the light again. So this is the way of mortal man— honored for a moment, yet without eternal insight, like a beast that will one day perish.”

That "Deuteronomy 32 worldview" is still new for me and one I haven't fully embraced yet (from the book's description: "an ancient biblical framework in which the nations were placed under rebellious spiritual powers, while Israel was called to be God’s distinct people). Do you subscribe to this view?

*"For centuries, Christians have wrestled with what it means to submit to governing authorities while maintaining loyalty to the Kingdom of God. Romans 13 and 1 Peter 2 have been used to endorse state power, national allegiance, and at times, oppressive regimes. But Revelation 13 presents a radically different vision: one of resistance to the beastly systems of empire and allegiance to the Lamb. How do we hold these passages together?"*

Christian complementarianism is a well-meaning but foundationally weak response to feministic egalitarianism. It is being proven as no real antidote to feminism because it is a result of feminism. Ceding ground to the egalitarian zeitgeist by its very existence–as it does not go *far enough* in retrieving a biblical view of the sexes–and has crept more and more into functional egalitarianism over time. It is egalitarianism lite.
The only lasting antidote to feministic egalitarianism is biblical patriarchy — Men courageously reassuming their proper duties of godly rule in the various spheres of human dominion: Godly and courageous father-rule in the home. Godly and courageous ecclesiological fathers in the Church. Godly and courageous magisterial city-fathers in the civic realm.

Imagine two apples on the table. They can be eaten, rot over time, or simply disappear. But the idea of "two apples" remains, even if they vanish. This notion of "two" — a mathematical representation — does not depend on the apples to exist. The number 2 does not change, does not age, and does not get lost. It is always the same, in any time or place.
This difference between the sensible world (the apples) and the intelligible world (the number 2) reveals something important: what is grasped by reason, like numbers, seems to have a more stable and profound existence than what is perceived by the senses.
This logic can also be applied to another comparison: Bitcoin and gold. Gold is like the apples — material, visible, and sensible. It can be touched, measured, and stored. However, it is also subject to time, physical scarcity, and human manipulation.
Bitcoin, on the other hand, although it also involves material aspects (such as energy and equipment), is fundamentally an abstract structure. Its value and function are based on mathematical codes, logical rules, and cryptographic consensus. It is not visible or tangible like gold, but it is rooted in principles closer to the world of reason.
Following this reasoning, one could say that Bitcoin, like the number 2, participates in a higher reality — less subject to the variations of the physical world and more rooted in rational and universal structures. Gold is rare and valuable, but Bitcoin is programmed, predictable, and, in some ways, more "immutable."
Just as the number 2 continues to exist even without apples, the structural value of Bitcoin remains even without vaults or gold bars. This makes us rethink: What is unseen — but understood — is, in the end, what is truly real.

Yesterday my wife and I were reading Isaiah 65 as part of our Easter practice and it’s a description of heaven.
It’s where that famous verses about “lions will eat straw”and “wolves and lambs will eat together” come from.
This passage also talks about how living 100 years will be just the beginning for you. And that death and disease will be no more.
But something that struck me anew this year was this long description about how people won’t labor in vain, that they will work and get to keep the fruits of their labor.
According to God: theft is up there with death and disease as the great injustices of the human condition.
I believe you can boil the call of every Christian’s life is to help bring Heaven to Earth. It’s important to work on things that bring Heaven closer, it’s the only worthwhile goal to labor for in this life.
Bitcoin is not the savior, but Bitcoin feels aligned with bringing Heaven to Earth.
It’s takes power away from corrupt people and reduces the theft perpetrated by those people.
I’m glad to be working on something every day that feels aligned with my values and could help all people live better lives.
Happy Easter friends.

Perhaps you need to simply zoom out and realize that Christianity is never easy, even if Christ's yoke is light, because we get in the way of ourselves.
Nobody can hope to be anything more than a pilgrim, in this life, for we see through the glass darkly. We are merely choosing which pilgrims' parade to join, and hoping to all join up at the destination.
"We see now through a glass in a dark manner: but then face to face. Now I know in part: but then I shall know even as I am known."

If a particular pope influences your decision to become Catholic, in either direction, then you are probably missing the larger point that Catholicism is not merely a Christian sect with a pope.
We have had good popes and bad popes, and which ones are which is a matter of each person's personal opinion. We have survived them all because the Catholic Church is guided by the Holy Spirit, with its mysterious ways.
The Holy Spirit has its own reasons for influencing the election of one or the other. We shall see, what it brings us next.
