Safety is a pretty subjective thing. I suspect a lot of this will be solved by combinations of client features and relays over time. Meaning there will probably be age appropriate combinations at some point. Or whatever measure you want to use. Of course, a relay specifically for children (for example) will likely have to deal with attracting certain types of adults. It'll be a constant battle.

How do you onboard new users into WoT? New users won't be in WoT initially which still means their on-boarding experience is tarnished by spam. Paid relays help, but then that is still expecting new users to finely tune relay lists and pay for relay services to start with.
Sometimes freedom of content like this just requires the user to go through some hoops to see only the content they wish to see.

I forgot to add that their support team is quite good. Their philosophy on customer data is the best I've seen. I certainly support the company overall. The marketing just doesn't align with my experience actually using the products.

ColdCard hardware devices are cool, but they remain the most expensive, inconsistent, and unreliable I've used.
Granted, this data comes from only two Q and two mk4 devices, but I figure that's more than most people have to go on.
I'm hearing more podcasts advertising them as the best at this and that. Maybe, but I have much cheaper devices that have performed better in the metrics that matter to me. Mainly, they turn on and work. The CCs are picky about which cables and power sources will work for each device, and each update has me hoping my devices won't be wrecked again.
The Q (after replacement from the update fiasco) is by far the most reliable using batteries. And the QR scanner is the easiest method I've used. Scanning the Q screen using any of my cameras sucks though, so I always end up using a micro SD card anyway.
I just want to send out some long term experience to balance the hype. They're cool, but you're paying for an experimental device that may or may not work well. They're a lot of fun and have many cool features IF you know that going in. I just don't think the marketing reflects that. And they're being advertised as "open source." They align more with "source available" in my opinion, but the term open source has been muddied these days. It's a minor point for me since I can see and compile the software myself. The firmware certainly isn't FOSS, if that matters to you.
Overall, if you can afford to tinker, buy a Q. If not, consider something else.

Needless to say, this works on any Browser and any app that runs JavaScript and can display webviews inside of it, including some Nostr apps.
Issues like this are why Amethyst doesn't display Twitter preview cards and play YouTube videos: they all need JavaScript.
