June 16th is Cannoli Day, honoring a classic #Italian pastry that originated in the South of Italy, on the island of #Sicily. Most cannoli consist of tube-shaped shells of deep-fried pastry dough filled with a sweet and creamy mixture made from ricotta cheese. Regarding the shells, they can be either store-bought or made from scratch with flour, sugar, butter, egg, and wine. Anyhow, they are best when crunchy!
