If Trump manages to get a relatively substantial Bitcoin reserve before China, the game changes completely and forever.
Because China has the production and skills. That's clear. But they don't have the capital or the financial/ownership/politics structure (i.e the reigns of capitalism?). And a move to the most pristine form of capital would truly bring a breath of fresh air to the US in that aspect.
If the US has a better financial position, while simultaneously improving their manufacturing position (taking a bit back from China), then the world will be in a better position for the longer term.
Because we need a freedom culture in the world too. We need freedom philosophy. We need philosophy and the US is probably one of the few places in the world where people still have the balls to say the truth. That's the most valuable thing in the world in my view.

building statistical analysis servers is a lot simpler than building database servers also, so it's a much lower target for me to hit in my mid game.

yeah, i'd prefer to work with investors with small cap and reasonable but attentive input on monitoring and having some input into the operations, but not a dominant role, of course. CEO is the one with veto power, and the investor has to trust them, primarily, and the CEO has to have a nose for bullshit in his contractors/employees

privacy is better controlled by auth than encryption. encryption signals still leak timing metadata and endpoints, you have to combine it with onion routing to have a lower trust requirement than self-hosting

yes, open membership means there is always a privacy vulnerability. direct messages can only be breached by one out of two but the more you put on the denominator the lower the chances of keeping it private
IMO, it's a fool's errand, outside of the business or affinity group context. better to make it public to read, auth to write, then you can control spam simply by whitelists, which are much cheaper to implement than blacklists and complex shit like spam recognisers.
