taro chews on them like they have nutritional value. we have so many board books with their corners missing 😩
I do really quick stops at thrift stores now. I skip all clothing cuz it's just polyester garbage anyway. I look at books for vintage knitting books and kids books, linens (big pieces of fabric to repurpose) and the craft supply section for yarn (usually really old acrylics, pass)
most of the time I leave empty handed though. today was a very lucky day.

Here’s where I’m at on Israel as someone who leans American isolationist.
AIPAC should be required to register as a foreign agent under the FARA. It openly lobbies the U.S. government in support of a foreign nation, and while it claims to be an American organization, its efforts clearly advance the interests of the Israeli state.
Under FARA any entity acting “at the order, request, or under the direction or control” of a foreign principal and engaging in political activity must register. If AIPAC’s coordination with Israeli officials is substantive, this threshold may well be met and if it isn’t, perhaps the law should be updated to reflect modern influence operations.
Second, we should end all foreign aid to Israel. Israel is a wealthy, technologically advanced country with nuclear weapons, a thriving economy, and a robust military-industrial base. The $3.8 billion military aid formalized under the 2016 Memorandum of Understanding is corporate welfare for defense contractors and a subsidy for endless conflict. Let them fund their own wars.
Third, I don’t have a personal stake in Israel/Palestine’s generations old religious and territorial dispute.
As an American taxpayer, I don’t want my money involved in a conflict that has zero direct benefit to the United States.
I want out of it financially, militarily, diplomatically.

I did it!!!!
When I was a little girl I wanted to be a published author. I turned 40 this week and thought to myself the best thing I could do to celebrate would be to cross that off my bucket list.
Today I finished a finished draft of my novel! Over 100k words, a total of 366 pages. It's not published yet but will be heading to an editor soon and will be on track to be published this year.
I also published my first peer-reviewed research paper as a lead author 😁 I won prize money for that effort and will be presenting my research at the national conference later this month.
I also submitted a little poem for publication and also lost about 50 lbs in the past year 😁😁😁
I think I've done well this past year I'm really proud of myself. Happy birthday to me! 🎉🥳🎆

Bitcoin DeFiプロトコルAlex Labは、Stacksブロックチェーン上で発生した830万ドルの不正流出を受け、トレジャリー資金を用いて被害ユーザーに全額補償すると発表した。原因はスマートコントラクトの検証ロジックにある不具合で、失敗した取引を参照することで悪意あるトークンが検査を回避し、流動性プールから資金を奪うことが可能となった。\$ALEXトークンはこの影響で約45％急落した。2024年5月にも同プロトコルはラザルス・グループによるフィッシングを起点に430万ドルの被害を受けており、その回収作業はいまだ継続中。
