โ๏ธ Western quolls and brushtail possums, once extinct in the Ikara-Flinders Ranges national park, are thriving 10 years after their reintroduction.
๐ The western quoll is a carnivorous marsupial that scavenge carrion and eat insects, birds, eggs, reptiles, and baby rabbits.
๐ The quolls are about 800g to 1.2kg for females and up to 2.5kg for males.
๐ The brushtail possums used to be common but are thought to have become extinct in the 1940s.
๐ The reintroduction was part of the Bounceback program and the Foundation for Australia's Most Endangered Species.
