embedded db's are way faster at indexing than network connected, even if it is on a unix socket
but FFLDB is not as fast at indexes as badger, but y'alls hate Go and for some reason or other nobody has written a split key/value store in any other language, even though the tech is quite proven for its use in dgraph
though for events, which are basically immutable data, the benefit is not as great as if the data was changed more, even still, storing events happens in a different log to searching so its concurrency is much greater (using batch operations and 8 threads it can chop through about 18gb of event data in 12 seconds, for a garbage collection mark and sweep)
there's no way you can do that without using a lot more metadata as you see with "dedicated" database servers
as i see it, the biggest problem with strfry is the dev basically pops up out of nowhere to dump a release and then doesn't listen to anything anyone says about it, and they pay him a mint and he disappears again

The audience you're building for and the percentage of the audience that actually uses the apps that were built off of vibecoding is what matters.
It's definitely useful in the avenue of building for yourself, but with regards to building something that people actually use at scale I haven't seen much, if anything, that is applicable for anyone other than devs. I don't doubt it'll start happening soon, though.

The reasoning behind my suggestion up top is that the lower case o is part of every western font set, so that a new implemented sats character doesn’t have to be designed from scratch which is complicated to do if one wants to catch the look and feel of the other characters.
In addition the o can be viewed as a circle, and therefore a coin o = 🪙
The current sats icon would be painful to design for a lot of fonts and is just ugly as shit as it looks like a kebab stick

Nice! Yes, the argument of pricing out spam is fascinating because it might be true. In the meantime, I am grateful that we can still run nodes on hardware that costs less than thousands of dollars a year to run (unlike Ethereum and friends). When the core merges the changes to remove the op_return limits, the people who don't want to relay non-monetary transactions can move to knots.

I started using something called UXPilot which is very helpful for building wireframes, user flows, and UI elements, and it integrates with Figma. It’s really a front-end tool, but it’s exactly what I was looking for as a power assist for generating mock-up screens for a proof of concept.

Gold’s market cap is sitting at $22.341 trillion, while Bitcoin’s is at $2.197 trillion, with its current price at $110,584.
First, we need to know how many Bitcoins are out there. If we divide Bitcoin’s market cap by its price, we get roughly 19.87 million Bitcoins in circulation, which makes sense since we know the total supply is capped at 21 million and about 19.7 million are already mined by now.
Now, to beat gold, Bitcoin’s market cap needs to go just above $22.341 trillion—let’s say $22.342 trillion to be safe. If we take that number and divide it by the number of Bitcoins, we’re looking at a price of about $1,124,399 per Bitcoin.
So, Bitcoin would need to hit around $1.124 million to surpass gold in market cap! Pretty wild, right?
