i predict that AI tools for programming are going to stop being popular once the programmers have to pay for it, and the funding of "free" use of it will end because they aren't going to get the skynet they were hoping for.
a related example of tech that is over hyped and under-delivering is hosting services like heroku
when my company comes to actually doing some serious amount of business with it, with the development of a matchmaking service based on data hosted on a heroku hosted index for shitcoin chains, the price of the service is turning out to be somewhere near the price of one programmer for 10 hours a week.
we are switching over to a hetzner based hosting which is like 1/5th of the cost
all the programmers who are happily vibe coding now will stop when they end up paying 1/4 of their wages to use it
the economics of replacing human brains just does not exist and any physicist with knowledge of the energy cost of computation could have told you
the real thing is so much more efficient

3 days of war room efforts handling outage recovery, likely extending into the weekend... I'm still on it. Managed to squeeze in a couple of interviews and deal with urgent family matters (across countries and continents) in between.
10 years ago, I would have been stressed like there was no tomorrow, barely sleeping the few hours I had, worrying about everything. Not today. I think I'm finally beginning to mature. I'm not trying to control things outside of my reach, or stressing out about imaginary scenarios.
It took me almost 40 years, but I’m finally grasping how to play the game of life. There's a Brazilian saying: "A vida a gente tem que saber levar."
Old folks love this one. It's hard to translate directly into English, because its wisdom and simplicity carry a lot of unspoken meaning. But at its core, it conveys the idea that we need to know how to navigate life and roll with the punches.
If you're going through difficult times right now, know that things eventually fall into place. Live your best life today, regardless of external circumstances. Take care of yourself and your family. Do your best and ignore the noise.

The network is a completely heterogeneous mix of node software. Core devs only have control over nodes that simply run the latest core version. Many nodes don't update regularly, and the more they abuse the Core repository, the more nodes will refuse to run core. Intelligence agencies can and will infiltrate and control your abstract power hierarchy of it has any meaningful influence on society.
Bitcoin Core is absolutely no exception, and is definitely prime target. The team you see today is most likely maximally captured/heavily influenced by deep state agencies. After all the legal, financial, cyber, and physical harassment making most other devs leave the project, this is the only outcome that makes sense to me.
