Condition Engineering
Garlic's high sulfur content promotes the growth of clovers and retards grass as clover favors high sulfur soils while grasses do not.
Scenario:
Plant garlic around fruit trees. As the garlic scapes break off and decay they add sulfur to the soil enhancing the growth of clovers and stalls grasses. When the clovers periodically die they add nitrogen to the soil for the fruit trees which also remain unmolested by grasses.
The Condition Engineering:
Using the scenario above as a guide we could change the conditions in an overly grass dominated pasture to favor more clovers by building compost teas with a high sulfur content, spraying the field with it and broadcast clover seed.
