BIP whatever or not, things will change to what groups of people want. The naming stuff is trivial, but it does throw a curveball whenever I talk about it with people trying to understand Bitcoin.
Ex: I do taxation work, soon resolution work, and eventually legal. I help people navigate the rules surrounding tax so the IRS isn’t on their case. I have every reason to hate taxes imposed upon people more than the haters outside because I study it and am exposed to it on a daily basis. It’s shitty and I’ve seen firsthand as what it can do to destroy people.
A lot of my clients would benefit from adopting Bitcoin, however I’m not technically legally able to talk to them about it. & in the moment that they are genuinely curious and I have a convo with, a young mom, some college kid, grandparents, extremely rich people, homeless people, etc that small part about how you can buy bitcoin referred to as sats automatically disengages them from hearing more. So, I just refer to it as “fractions of a bitcoin” and it helps them understand it.
