And there are 8 zeros before it becomes a bitcoin. There are 8 letters in SATOSHIS.
Case closed! They're called sats!
Not everyone is into computers, so calling them bits would just confuse those normies more! Bytes, bits, Mb, MB etc.
Let's not confuse bitcoin with all of that. Let it be money. Currently almost all money have a different name for the fractions of their main money.

Plus, they're already called sats on all of the exchanges and places people use bitcoin. Trying to change it now would before confusing and be a sure way to start sounding like all the other shitcoins that change stuff willy nilly.
