No I’m saying that in non technical companies the IT department actually make many decisions that they are not authorised to do because the managers in charge don’t understand what they are doing.
My family company as a junior, I had more power within the company than anybody else because I controlled the computers.
This was the case in the Jackie Weaver video I shared earlier. In the UK during lockdown, parish council meetings were held on Zoom. Jackie Weaver was the secretary. She understood how to use Zoom, so she set it up. The Parish councillors who actually had the power were excluded from the meeting by Jackie because she didn’t like the instructions they were giving her.
Jackie won ,despite having no real world power, because she controlled the computers.
So it is with the Core devs, the have the power to exclude non devs like Mechanic because they control the code.
