A great tragedy has struck my family.
What has the power to wake parents from their sleep — but for most remains just a nightmare or an unspoken fear — has become a harsh reality and the most difficult trial of our lives.
We were looking forward to the arrival of our second son, our third child.
When my wife’s water broke on Tuesday, June 4th, we were still filled with joy and electrifying hope hung in the air.
But events quickly took a tragic turn when labor wouldn’t progress.
We rushed to the hospital, where we were told — heartbreakingly — that his heart was no longer beating, and there was no hope for a happy ending.
The world stood still, and all emotions were drowned out by the emptiness that has since taken hold in our hearts.
We have two little angels already with us who kept us going ever since.
Yes, they can be exhausting, annoying, stubborn, aggressive, and manipulative and many more things — thank God for that.
They are alive and loud — and only their noise can drown out the deafening silence where a heartbeat would otherwise been heard.
Rest in peace, son.
