Yes that is a tough question. It even might explain the situation. But it doesn't solve the situation.
The people of Gaza, when given the opportunity to choose their leaders, choose Hamas. The people of Gaza, when offered the chance to live in peace, chose war. The people of Gaza have demonstrated no interest in coexisting with Israel.
"From the river to the sea..." This is their demand.
Given this unobtainable goal and the religious fervor with which they pursue it, the outcome was always inevitable.
They will get their wish. Israel will be united, "from the river to the sea. "
