According to a defense official speaking to Axios, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has authorized the voluntary departure of military dependents from various locations within the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) Area of Responsibility.
“CENTCOM is closely coordinating with the Department of State, as well as our allies and partners in the region, to maintain a constant state of readiness for a wide range of global missions,” the official said. “The safety and security of our service members and their families remains our top priority, and CENTCOM continues to monitor the escalating tensions in the Middle East.”
