On this day, we remember Saint Gherasim of Tismana, who, in his zeal for Christ, openly confessed his faith before the Turkish oppressors. Refusing to convert to Islam, he was subjected to brutal tortures and ultimately beheaded for his unwavering devotion. His martyrdom became a testament to the strength of faith and a beacon of hope for those facing persecution.
Let us pray to Saint Gherasim, that through his intercession, we may find the courage to stand firm in our beliefs and to glorify God in all circumstances.
