McMaster Carr which is my favorite industrial supplier has implemented stickers on each item! This is a huge time saver when you want to organize small parts. The stickers peel off nicely and you can use them to mark storage locations! Then you never loose the part number. If anyone is crazy enough to know what I'm building I'll zap you!
