The issue with the claim
*the filters don’t work* is that you are proving an absence of evidence, not an underlying fundamental.
*Some* spam-transactions and non-standard transactions get confirmed *despite* the filter(s), this does not prove the filters are ineffective.
What don’t they work at? Stopping spam transactions completely? Okay.
Are they not effective at *deterrence*?
How could you possibly prove this?
The moment they are turned off by default we will find out if there is evidence, and many people are extremely uncomfortable with that.
This is why Core 29 is not being run despite “developer consensus”.
