Did the Holy Spirit kill Ananias for lying?
Firstly, the behaviour of the Father (via the HS) [according to Acts 5:1-11] does not match that which was presented to us by Jesus - and Jesus strictly told us that only via Him do we know the Father, and Jesus would not have acted like this.
Secondly, this is backed up when we contrast the behaviour of Jesus when the disciples attempted to initiate what they knew [assumed] was an action/behaviour from their [previous] Father (YHWH), and Jesus strongly rebuked them;
YHWH actions was all about sending fire:

But Jesus rebuked the disciples for this:
And when his disciples James and John saw it, they said, “Lord, do you want us to tell fire to come down from heaven and consume them?” But he [Jesus] turned and rebuked them. -- Lk 9:54–55.
Also to note, the canonised version of this event is missing an important tidbit which is seen here:
But he [Jesus] turned, and rebuked them, and said, "You know not what manner of spirit you are of. For the Son of man came not to destroy men's lives, but to save them.” -- Evangelion (Gospel of the Lord) 6.7
Thirdly, the story of Ananias and Sapphira, and/or the book of Acts isn't found in the first NT [Evangelion (Gospel of the Lord)].
Based on the above, it's likely this is an example of judaized text to link Jesus and/or His Father to their Father - YHWH.
