Data on mortality suggest that the Atlanticists have succeeding in shifting UK society towards a North American model;
across the developed world mortality rates for the under 50s have dropped but in the UK (like the US & Canada) they have risen.
While the UK retains some aspects of Europeaness we can still reverse this trend towards a North American social environment, but our political class needs to reorient themselves towards Europe.
I'm not optimistic!
