This Coinbase deal is getting more interesting by the day.
I have never had a Coinbase account, but a friend of mine signed up earlier this week (Monday or Tuesday). They said they had never received anything from Coinbase (no emails or texts fishing or otherwise) and that since they signed up they have been receiving daily fishing emails and texts from entities claiming to be Coinbase.
I am starting to think A) Coinbase probably waited to go public with the data breach news until after it received its listing on the S&P 500, and B) as of at least Monday or Tuesday of this week customer info was still being compromised.
My friend was a newbie to the space and has been really turned off by this. Can’t blame them. Wish they had come to me first.
I suspect there will be many, many lawsuits filed against Coinbase over this.
Just when I think I can’t detest Armstrong and that crappy company any more, they somehow find a way to prove me wrong.
