Knots v. Core. There are two types of parents:
1-Teenagers are going to drink and do dumb stuff but we should do everything we can to discourage them from doing it including incentives, education and consequences.
2-Teenagers are going to drink and do dumb stuff so we should give them a safe place to do it at home and not make a big deal out of it. In fact let’s buy them some wild turkey and host a party for the little degens. (If you own a liquor store, you are more likely to fall into this camp).
Everyone grew up with friends in both camps. Think about which ones developed into productive well balanced adults.
Knots is untested and extremely light on developer diversity so I’m not prepared to move yet but Core is going off the rails as far as I can tell. I have less technical ability than your average chipmunk, but I have read extensively on economics, game theory and ethics. Spammers are the enemy of Bitcoin as a monetary network and you don’t give your enemy airspace above your capital.
