How shitcoins almost destroyed my life and how Bitcoin saved it.
It was the end of 2017, just before the all-time high, when I bought my first satoshis. I had heard about it from a friend who had bought a few months earlier and was already making good profits.
Unfortunately, he was also addicted to shitcoins and so I was recommended ADA, XRP and ETH.
I bought a load of XVG and watched my initial $1000 turn into more than $3000 over the course of a few days. I felt absolutely invincible (I wasn't to feel that way for the next 7 years).
The crash after the all-time high came and I watched as the $3000 became less and less, I bought all kinds of shitcoins and lost more and more.
At some point I came across something on Telegram called Dapps and it ran on the Tron blockchain, it sounded interesting and revolutionary to me "decentralized apps" that must be something I thought.
I soon found myself in the first Tron casinos and I convinced myself that I was "mining" some casino coins by letting the slot machines glow from early in the morning until late at night. I didn't even realize that I was slipping deeper and deeper into gambling addiction.
It was January 2025 when I didn't know what to do next and I was close to the end because I no longer knew how to pay my bills when I finally found the courage to seek help.
I told my fiancée everything and she promised to support me and that we would manage together. With the certainty of your help behind me, the first week went by without me playing. I bought a pile of Bitcoin books and listened to podcasts all day to successfully distract myself and not think about my searches.
Bitcoin finally opened my eyes 7 years after my first encounter with it, I no longer see the world the way I did before.
Now 5 months have passed and I haven't wasted a single thought on starting to play again. I've even stopped smoking and spend more time in nature.
I stack sats every day and I feel even more fantastic than I did back then.
I thank my fiancée and I thank Bitcoin!
