Yes, this was the reason why the "/upload" endpoint on servers shouldn't modify the blob.
You should be able to download or already have a backup of all your media used in your social posts, then when your provider bans you or shuts down. you can setup a personal blossom server and reupload all your media there, just like a nostr relay.
The the last step would be to update your public list of blossom servers you use to point to your new server and if clients implement things correctly all your media could be found again
