🛑 ICE Raids & Federal Enforcement
June 6: ICE conducted coordinated raids across Los Angeles (warehouses, parking lots, fashion district).
→ At least 44 arrests, including SEIU organiser David Huerta (injured during detention).
→ Raids triggered clashes in Compton and Paramount: tear gas, flash-bangs, rubber rounds used.
🧨 Protests & Civil Unrest
June 6–8: Protests spread through Compton, Paramount, DTLA.
→ Escalation from peaceful to violent: projectiles thrown, police response intensified.
→ A British press photographer was injured by police sponge rounds.
Earlier unrest (Feb 2025): freeway shutdowns, walkouts, church-based community defence already in motion.
⛑️ National Guard Deployment
June 7–8: Trump federalised 2,000 National Guard troops to LA under Title 10.
→ Bypassed Governor Newsom — first such move in 60 years.
→ Marines at Camp Pendleton placed on high alert.
