The state monopolizes voilence. And I would argue this can be justified very well, since even this violence has to be in relation to the threat, posed from the person who receives state violence, to the society.
And in a functional state justice is spoken publicly, so the people get the opportunity to call for changes in law, when they are not according to the values of society.
Would you vote, that a world where everyone has the right to act violently against other members of the society, is more just?
I think this leads to tyranny of the most powerful. And suppression of weaker minorities.
