i recently put a new spinner luggage ( with very good freshly factory lubricated wheel bearings ) on the front porch and while i was closing the door it rolled off the porch and tumbled down the stairs ...
i always thought the porch was level but it was sloped on purpose to make the rain roll off ... the slope is so slight you never notice it, but it's absolutely there ...
apparently you don't need to be a Roman Genius to effectively manage rain water ...
i felt really stupid for scratching up brand new luggage before even getting to the airport but this type of stuff is basic 101 for builders.
this was my first piece of spinner luggage. when i read online debates on 2 wheel vs 4 wheel luggage nobody has mentioned the issue of 4 wheel luggage just spontaneously rolling away from you if there is the slightest slope. i still prefer 4 wheel luggage, but that is one downside.
the bigger issue is when you're on that little airport train and the train makes a turn and your luggage just goes flying. i ended up putting it on the side so it doesn't roll around on that little train. luckily it had rubber feet on the side - a feature i will be looking for in any future luggage purchases.
