I use Amethyst regularly, so I would be happy to answer any questions about anything you are trying to understand or get working on there. It is VERY different from Primal, but that is because it actually takes a decentralized and "Nostr native" approach.
Another great option on Android is Coracle.
The great thing is, Android gets all the best Nostr stuff, because you can install anything you want on your device, rather than having to get Apple's blessing like the poor folks over on iOS.
Since you are on Android, though, probably the next thing you should work on is getting Amber up and running, if you don't have it already. Amber is a signer application that allows you to use multiple Nostr apps without giving all of them your nsec. Instead, those apps just make a request to Amber any time they need something signed by your nsec. In fact, you won't be able to log into Coracle's Android app without something like Amber set up, because the dev for that client does not want to risk having access to your nsec and possibly leaking it.
I wrote a full review of Amber over on my site. You can find it here: https://www.nostr-reviews.com/post/1740708496659/
I will also be releasing a tutorial in the near future that will go over setting up Zapstore, Amber, Amethyst, Pokey, CoinOS, and Citrine, and why you might want to do so.
