Ermil, a deacon, and Stratonic, a guard, were martyred for their faith in Christ. Ermil openly confessed his belief, while Stratonic, secretly a Christian, was torn when forced to witness Ermil's torture. Overcome with grief, Stratonic revealed his faith, and both were subjected to brutal torments before being drowned in the river.
