The Fungal Link (Animals, Plants)
Many species of fungi manufacture both plant and animal hormones. An innate knowledge of what these hormones do, what species they effect, and how to build them with a high degree of efficacy points to a more ancient knowledge than we give credit for. It's as if the fungal kingdom was a primitive outgrowth before the Tree of Life even began to branch.
