Unbridled masculinity can be dangerous (like a bear in the woods), but tempered masculinity directed at protecting the weak and innocent is the glory of a man. Such a man keeps the peace. Keeping peace is only possible with the potential for violence. A man incapable of violence is not peaceful, he is weak. Jesus is meek & mild, but he can also destroy his enemies with a word from his lips.
