Yeah he certainly does!
You could summarize this as saying that Core devs, for various reasons, each person in a different situation likely, contradict themselves or are assuming things that just aren't necessarily true. They have a defeatism about getting miners to listen to nodes and about getting mining decentralized. They don't understand the way property rights actually enforce things on Bitcoin. Some of them willfully don't understand due to motivated thinking toward goals that are ideologically flawed or for selfish reasons that don't necessarily reflect other people's interests on the network. Mechanic actually seems to understand how Bitcoin works better than Core themselves do from the perspective of individual rights, and frankly I think I do too. Knots gives you more choice and the devs behind it believe in and understand freedom of choice, and spam filters are not censorship, that's a grift.
We can know for sure that at least some of the Core devs are grifting, that was easy this time around. But beware, there will be people who come across as genuine in the future who are not quite or who are misled one way or another by their own erroneous thoughts or by someone else. Don't trust, verify.
