Mount Roraima, located in Venezuela 🇻🇪,
is one of the most stunning natural wonders on the planet.
Towering nearly 3,000 meters (about 10,000 feet) above sea level, this ancient mountain looks like something straight out of a fantasy movie. Its top is completely flat, almost like a giant stone table, stretching across more than 30 square kilometers.
With its sharp cliffs, dramatic waterfalls, and otherworldly appearance, it feels more like a floating island in the sky than a typical mountain.
For over 500 years, Mount Roraima has fascinated scientists, explorers, and nature lovers. Geologists are puzzled by its shape—it looks like it was sliced with a knife because of its precise angles. It’s believed to be part of the Pakaraima mountain range and possibly one of the oldest rock formations on Earth.
Some experts think it might have formed from a massive earthquake, but no one knows for sure. What makes it even more mysterious is that other mountains formed by earthquakes don’t look anything like it.
Mount Roraima is also home to rare plants and animals that can’t be found anywhere else. Parts of the mountain remain unexplored, so scientists believe it may still be hiding species unknown to science.
