A 29-year-old man was arrested on the spot on Friday afternoon (13/6) after being shot while trying to steal a security guard's gun inside a bank in the center of Sumaré, in the interior of São Paulo. According to the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), the security guard reported to the Military Police (PM) that the suspect tried to take his gun to rob the bank. During the attempt, there was a physical struggle between the two, and the security guard reacted by firing. The suspect was shot and was taken to the city hospital by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) and is being held under police escort. The case was registered at the 1st Police Station in Sumaré as an attempted robbery, bodily harm, and legitimate defense. The security guard's gun and the used projectiles were seized by the forensic team, which will analyze the material. The SSP stated that the investigations are ongoing to clarify the facts.
