During a high-level security briefing with senior IDF officials, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a stark warning to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, drawing a comparison to the fate of former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein.
“I caution the Iranian dictator against persisting in war crimes and launching missiles at Israeli civilians,” Katz said. “He should recall what happened to the neighboring country’s leader who chose a similar path against Israel.”
Katz emphasized that Israeli strikes on regime and military targets in Tehran would continue, referencing the previous day’s attack on Iran’s state broadcasting authority. He also urged residents of Tehran to heed IDF evacuation warnings “for their own safety.”
