Imagine a tool—an AI-powered, open, merit-based system—that finds the most talented, knowledgeable people worldwide and connects them to jobs in fields like medicine, tech, or science. Possible through interacting with AI via conversations and or explicit verbal or written assessments.
This could be built fast, and it’d advance humanity more than any other innovation by putting the best minds where they’re needed most.
But here’s the catch: it’s likely being held back. Why? Because powerful players—colleges, banks, big corporations—profit from the current setup.
Colleges sell pricey degrees, banks cash in on student loans, and industries thrive on exclusive hiring systems that gatekeep talent and prosper from walled gardens perpetuated by the governments they fund through lobbying.
Governments benefit from the systems maintaining consumption, controlling information and limiting advancements and progress.
This AI tool would tear down those walls, letting raw ability shine and disrupting their control. These groups, tied to government protections, have every reason to keep things as they are and no incentive to let true innovation shake things up.
