The easiest thing to teach a child is math because it is highly structured and highly logical.
The most difficult thing to teach a child is history because the child must first be given an interest in the story in order to teach himself about it.
To learn math has its own reward. It provides its own dopamine because success is always at hand. Where history is something that you do not gain success with until much later in life.
Therefore, the greatest disservice that we can do to our children is to give them a history or English or literature teacher that does not know how to instill interest of the subject in the children.
