I think I've discussed it before, but a unique feature of my teenage years was hanging out with friends in half finished houses in our half finished subdivision. No one wanted to hire us, so we spent summers exploring houses. Some of them didn't even have windows or doors yet. You could just walk in and see the various stages of a house. We also witnessed foreclosures.
It was weird to see, but I'm glad I got to see it. It changed everything for me.
