Its hard to find Christian midwives, and yes, you probably need to travel for one. You could also have a doula, but that may be an unnecessary expense. Birth centers are great, but being 3 hours away may not be practical. Ask if you can get a backup midwife nearby and rent a tub (some tubs are cheap enough to be disposable) in case you need to do it at home. Your birth enter doula can travel to you during labor. Your husband can set up the tub, all you need is a 10 or 15 foot potable water RV hose and an adapter from the shower head pipe to garden hose attachment.
