“Build real redundancy systems for Lightning nodes: The network needs a serious rethink on routing and failover. Whether it’s via multi-path payments, smarter hub designs, or some yet-to-be-invented protocol, Lightning has to figure out how to keep the lights on when nodes go dark. I’d love to see a system where Lightning nodes operate in trusted twin-pairs across the globe—two nodes in completely different locations acting as each other’s backup, sharing all data and keys solely for redundancy. Yes, that’s a big trust ask, but without real-world redundancy, reliability will remain Lightning’s weakest link.”
