when i started exploring lightning ⚡️, i opened a channel to one of nostr:npub12j9w6u70p0v5cp3hsu4k4nfvswthmhsr6azakewg4ae9zmrej0fq6cck68 nodes. i selected some strange options when opening the channel and it was never used. i think his node never really recognized it as a valid channel.
my poor attempt at a decently-connected lightning node ended when my node crashed and almost all of my channels force closed. in the aftermath i found there were sats missing and i traced it back to the weird channel i had opened.
research lead me to find chantools which appeared to be capable of closing "zombie channels". but it didnt support cln 😱, the node used by my partner. enter nostr:npub1hxcth8ku8m8szwyu2u82dazv2k5qh8dsvmgte29zygm67xzj2tnq6amq5w and his willingness to help me and add this functionality to chantools. today we finally closed the channel.
