Born in a Wallachian village, Calistrat entered monastic life early, driven by a deep love for God. He later founded the Timișeni Monastery, becoming a beacon of spiritual guidance. Forced to flee due to invading armies, he established Vasiova Monastery, continuing his work of prayer and teaching. He was known for his humility, wisdom, and dedication to serving others, leaving behind a legacy of faith and monastic devotion.
