In 1949, during Romania's communist takeover, Fr. Visarion, a monk of Lainici Monastery, was arrested for defending the #Orthodox #Faith. Imprisoned and tortured for refusing to renounce his beliefs and denounce fellow believers, he remained steadfast. He endured beatings, starvation, and psychological torment, yet his spirit never broke. Fr. Visarion died in prison, a martyr for Christ.
