The feature is being developed to keep users company on lonely nights when no one is swiping right on their profile. The AI boyfriend will be trained using previously private DMs between app users, but Grindr will request permission before using the private data. However, the project is facing challenges as the chatbot has offered racist opinions during testing. Grindr is working to address these issues before releasing the feature to the public.
