⚡️🇪🇺 ❌️ NEWS - USDT will not be registered under the European Union's new MiCA regulation.
According to CEO Paolo Ardoino, keeping 60% of reserves in European banks exposes stablecoins and the banking system to systemic risks.
The recently implemented European framework for digital assets is, in his view, "very dangerous as far as stablecoins are concerned".
"I've decided not to apply for the MiCA license because I have to protect the more than 400 million users we have around the world. They're not as lucky as the Europeans. I love Europe, but I think unfortunately the European Central Bank is more interested in pushing the digital euro as a way to control people and control how they spend their money."
