Hello everyone, good morning. I am Shaun, from YakiHonne. First and foremost, I am honored to have this opportunity to participate in the Nostrasia conference as a speaker, and I am particularly grateful for the special support provided by @Alex McShane.

Before we officially begin, I'd like to talk about the origin of the name YakiHonne. When we first established this brand, we never thought that so many people would be interested in the meaning behind our brand name. As we have developed, I've received a lot of positive feedback from users about the name, but also some "negative" feedback, and even some well-known figures in the industry have directly messaged me, asking me quite directly, "What kind of silly name is YakiHonne?" (laughter from the audience). So, on this occasion today, which I believe is the most appropriate, I'd like to start by sharing the story behind the name "YakiHonne." When I was very young, there was a famous anime called "Doraemon," featuring a blue, futuristic cat from the future as the main character. He had a magical pocket with an endless supply of gadgets, each with its own superpower. In one episode of the anime, he pulled out a box from his pocket, and anyone who opened the box could only speak the truth and couldn't tell lies. Yes, it was a truth-telling box, and the name of this box was "JUST HONNE" where "Honne" means "truth." YakiHonne, as a decentralized media platform, has always been dedicated to exploring how to decentralize media. On the path of decentralized media development, we firmly believe in two principles that decentralized media must adhere to Principle 1, we refuse to manufacture our own truths. I don't want to delve into politics at length, but we all know that the world today has become very chaotic, and in part, centralized media bears an undeniable responsibility for creating and spreading their version of the truth, making it difficult for the public to understand the essence of events and leaving them bewildered. This is not what decentralized media should do. Principle 2, we cannot arbitrate the truth. For example, Alice posts content, saying it's the truth of the matter, while Bob posts the other side of the story, also claiming it's the truth of the matter. As a media platform, our only role is to provide a completely decentralized platform for anyone and everyone who wants to speak the truth, freely express themselves, and create without interference.

This is the origin of "Honne" in YakiHonne, and "Yaki" is derived from a traditional Japanese delicacy, dorayaki, which is a type of red bean pancake and also happens to be Doraemon's favorite food. Doraemon inspired us in a way because we believe he is not just a simple cartoon character; he is actually a creator, an inventor, an architect. He represents the pure, simple, and sincere pursuit of truth.

So, I say today is the most suitable occasion to share our brand culture because it actually comes from Japan and is influenced by Japanese culture. It's not "silly" at all. (laughter from the audience)

YakiHonne is a decentralized media infrastructure, and we support organizations and individuals worldwide to create, curate, review, publish, and report freely and automatically. We support a variety of publishing formats, including news, blogs, long-form articles, streaming, journals, and more. YakiHonne has developed a mature web client at www.yakihonne.com, which features several unique characteristics:

Built on Nostr technology, it achieves true decentralization and censorship resistance. Creators have the freedom to write, edit, and publish, with data ownership belonging to the individual creator. A beautiful and smooth UI/UX user experience, which has received consistent praise within the Nostr ecosystem. Exclusive curation functionality. Exclusive lightweight social features, such as comments, voting, disliking, and favoriting. Lightning Network-based payment/tipping through the Zap function, enabling true P2P value transfer between users and creators. Fast loading speeds and stable relay network nodes.

This client is the first step in building the decentralized media protocol for YakiHonne, and the entire industry is exploring decentralized content media at this stage. Now, YakiHonne is entering the second phase, building a sustainable and trustworthy decentralized media. We will release it soon.

Additionally, I am proud to announce that our mobile app's beta version is now officially available. The mobile app not only inherits many of the features from the web version but also includes upgraded user interactions tailored to mobile users. Personally, having worked in the big tech industry for 18 years, I've encountered various mobile clients, and I can confidently say that our mobile app will provide you with a stunning experience. You can participate in the beta by scanning the QR codes provided, which are available for both iOS and Android systems. In the seven months of YakiHonne's development, we have grown from scratch, and we are still rapidly expanding. While there are areas where we have room for improvement, there are some noteworthy achievements that I'd like to share. As of now, our users come from 116 different countries worldwide, covering all corners of the globe. We have over 18 different languages used by creators on the platform, and collectively, they have published over 12,000 pieces of content in various formats, including text, podcasts, videos, and more. The platform currently receives over 100,000 monthly views. While 100,000 views may not seem like a remarkable number, it's important to note that back in April, during the early days of our brand, when we organized the first Nostr meetup in Hong Kong, our data was at zero. We have a long way to go, but we are making rapid progress. So, the key question arises: since today is the Nostr-themed conference, what contributions has YakiHonne made to the Nostr ecosystem that are worth sharing?

Firstly, on the product front, we've delivered a high-quality, stable client. Not only do we have the web version at yakihonne.com, but we've also rolled out a brand-new mobile version, a pioneering move in the entire Nostr long-form content media. We strive to maintain reliable relays, ensuring data persistence through our stable relay, and I want to express my gratitude to Damus and Nostream for their open-source technical support in building the relay. However, building a continuously stable relay network requires more effort. We are exploring solutions and attempting to reach consensus within the ecosystem. Secondly, through YakiHonne's Lightning Network system, we've sent 7 million Sats to creators worldwide, engaging in valuable interactions. Nearly 1000 creators have joined the ranks of value incentives due to YakiHonne's promotion of the Lightning Network. Our unique curation feature has curated over 110 professionally selected collections for the Nostr ecosystem. Hundreds and thousands of users utilize YakiHonne's decentralized commenting feature to share their perspectives and thoughts on Nostr on the platform. Additionally, we actively engage with numerous renowned universities to introduce more people to Nostr and the Lightning Network.

In addition to building a truly decentralized media platform, we are also doing some cool things, like hosting the global Hackathon focused on the Nostr ecosystem—Hack Nostr On. As of today, we have held three rounds, with over 80 high-quality Nostr projects signing up. We've awarded more than 10 outstanding project prizes, totaling 24.5 million Sats in funding for these top-notch projects. Many of the projects from our hackathons have grown to become representative projects within the Nostr ecosystem. At the same time, we have the best lineup of judges, all highly recognized figures in the Nostr ecosystem, including Nostr's creator @fiatjaf, our Dev superstar @pabolf, @G, and @John from Bitcoin Magazine.

In addition to hosting global hackathons, YakiHonne has organized Nostr Mmeetups in at least eight countries this year, focusing on the Nostr ecosystem. We started the first stop in Hong Kong in April, and in fact, we were among the earliest to promote Nostr and YakiHonne in the entire Asian market, especially in the Chinese market. The event in Hong Kong was a tremendous success, with many people participating in the HK Carnival, even though almost no one knew what Nostr was. However, people attended our speeches with curiosity, and the effect was excellent. It was from that event that I began to get to know some Nostr developers in Hong Kong.

Following that, in May, during the prestigious Miami Bitcoin Conference, we hosted what was praised as the "most valuable Nostr meetup at the Miami Bitcoin Conference." It was an unforgettable and wonderful experience, with many globally renowned Nostr personalities participating. At the same time, we remotely connected with the top ten projects selected by Hack Nostr On, sharing insights into Nostr's development. We chatted, drank, and laughed for over 6 hours, creating a truly memorable memory. Over the past few days at the conference, I've met many old friends, all of whom I first connected with during that time.

Continuing, we organized a creative offline hackathon for creators and developers in Berlin, and in Beijing, we held an event focused on decentralized science. In Malaysia and Spain, we've also held various Nostr Meetups. Particularly noteworthy is YakiHonne being the only organization to host a Nostr Mmeetup on Nostr/Bitcoin-related topics during the Singapore 2049 conference in August. During the seven-day conference, with over 300 side events, all related to Web3, we not only stayed true to our commitment to the Nostr domain but also exclusively invited @fiatjaf and @Pabolf to connect with Nostr enthusiasts in Singapore via Zoom. They shared insights into Nostr's development history and future direction, marking a first in the entire Asian community and the first official presentation of Nostr to the Asian market for the two guests. Therefore, we consistently emphasize that YakiHonne's promotion of Nostr in the Asian market is sincere. As a content platform, our primary focus is on how to help contribute more high-quality content to the Nostr ecosystem. To date, we have published over 3,128 pieces of content dedicated to discussing Nostr. These include beginner tutorials, in-depth development guides, and much more. We have curated these high-quality pieces into over 30 curated collections, some curated by YakiHonne and others curated by creators on the platform. In addition to textual content, we have hosted more than 20 online workshops of various scales, targeting Nostr developers, creators, and startups. Leveraging YakiHonne's exclusive podcast channel, "HonneBox Show," we have successfully conducted interactive interviews with over 12 creators who have made significant contributions to the Nostr ecosystem. However, perhaps the most noteworthy accomplishment is how we use YakiHonne's global media presence to promote outstanding content from Nostr creators. We do this daily, without interruption. To date, we have helped promote over 200 pieces of high-quality content across various formats from 110 outstanding creators within the ecosystem. I believe this has a direct, positive, and effective impact on creators within the ecosystem. So, I'd like to say that due to these efforts, we have received a lot of positive feedback from users. This includes some well-known figures, many of whom are YakiHonne users. For instance, @JB55, the founder of Damus, has praised Nostr, and @fiatjaf's famous line at the Singapore conference, "I love YakiHonne." An interesting tidbit is that @Jack Dorsey sent a message, saying, "Damn, YakiHonne wiped my following list clean" (though he later found out it was due to a system glitch in another client ). I met him during this conference and showed him a screenshot while telling him I'd be quoting this during my speech. He first burst out laughing, and then he apologized, saying he had made a mistake. It's amazing how nice a person he is. In addition to the many positive reviews, there are some individuals we would like to express our gratitude to. First and foremost, we'd like to thank Mr. @fiatjaf, the creator of Nostr, for recently granting us funding on behalf of the Nostr community. We recently received funding from him on behalf of the Nostr community, acknowledging and encouraging YakiHonne's dedicated focus on building the Nostr ecosystem. This funding will be utilized for the development of the Nostr ecosystem. Additionally, we appreciate @Pablof for his selfless technical support. His valuable experience has been instrumental in our progress. We'd also like to extend our thanks to @Arkin0x, @G, and @John for their unwavering support of YakiHonne. Special thanks to my personal friend @Derek Moss for silently keeping an eye on us and offering support when it mattered most. Of course, this list of gratitude is long, and there are many more people to thank. Thank you all, we love you. Finally, I want to say that whether it's the development of Nostr or YakiHonne, we're in the very early stages. Inspired by the Japanese samurai spirit of SHU-HA-RI, we think about how we can learn and innovate regarding Nostr. We've gone through an exploration phase, including how we, as outsiders, entered the ecosystem to research and learn the protocol's essence and seek ways to make it better. In the process of exploration, our capacity for learning has expanded. In addition to seeking ways to make existing clients stronger and more stable in practice, we've taken a series of necessary measures to expand the development of the entire protocol to areas we had never used before, maximizing the potential of the protocol itself. In the end, it evolved into allowing developers to customize their clients freely because they have a better understanding of the essence of the Nostr protocol. Gradually, they integrated their research findings into their own clients. This is how the entire Nostr protocol becomes richer, more diverse, more extendable, and with greater development potential. Nostr is still in its infancy, which not only signifies a long road ahead but also emphasizes the need for constant care, 24/7. The journey of growth will undoubtedly be fraught with unforeseen challenges and numerous unknown difficulties. However, we remain steadfast in our commitment to our goal. We have never expected to merely "Make Nostr Better" because YakiHonne is also relatively small with limited resources. Yet, we firmly believe that by continually improving ourselves, by making YakiHonne better, we can contribute to the growth of the entire Nostr ecosystem.
