yes, and the millions of years story and the comet strike 65 million years ago. all of which are bullshit.
recent discoveries have determined that the dinosaurs are megafauna, like the Cassowaries and Komodo Dragons, and that previous to the Dryas period there was a very warm, wet period in which vegetation was extensive, enough to support such large animals.
but what actually happened then was there was a massive superflare, triggered by a magnetic polarity shift from the galactic current sheet, which weakened earth's magnetic field, and caused the pole to shift to a different location on the crust, the increased energy heated the magma underneath the crust and the magnetic pole of the crust aligned with the magnetic field of the changed current sheet, and in the process in under a few hours the earth's crust rotated 90 degrees to its current state.
this is why there is forests under antarctica, it used to be a lush tropical land. the shift of the crust caused massive flooding over all of the land which buried all that megafauna in mud, very quickly, also forming landforms like the Grand Canyon, as the mud settled on top of it squashing the megafauna stuck in pockets in the ground under tons of fine dust, preventing oxygen and bacteria from acting on the corpses and mostly only the hard tissue like bones remained from anaerobic digestion, the rest turned into gas and seeped through the cracks in the sedimentary rock that formed from the pressure of so much layers over top.
that was only 6000 years ago. it happens every 6000 years, every second one (like the one coming up soon) is far more extreme and the sun's reaction to it (it also has a pole shift) is categorised as a "micro nova". these events also tend to cause a ~1000 year period of cooling, due to the disruption of the ocean currents, which are the major mechanism controlling where heat is distributed, obviously with a 90 degree shift in its position it takes a long time to stabilise, and additionally, with the weak field ice melts faster on the poles (UV light makes ice melt btw, but so do a lot of other high energy particles cause heating), and when the salinity of the ocean is contaminated with pure water it cools down, and that cools everything.
this is also what the flood story is based on, and many cultures have stories about this event. it also tends to involve a lot of volcanoes and earthquakes, often land rises from the sea and in other places sinks under the sea. after the 1000 year period of cold, there is very often a lot of formation of large rocks in the solar system from the material blown off the sun, and eventually there is a high frequency of these striking and passing by through the atmosphere causing airbursts and fiery streaks that can completely incinerate a whole band of forest area, this is what happened to the middle east and north africa, what causes desertification is decarbonisation.
