The officially accepted version of events that transpired in the past. This record will vary from society to society colored by bias, different perspectives, and officially recognized available information. Consequently, "history" is never 100% factual and is always in a state of flux.
For example, the difference between terrorist and patriot is often measured only by how successful they are and which side of the conflict you personally support.
